The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff of all the university's institutes. The ceremony began with the hoisting of the national flag by Shri Suresh Singh Ji Bhadoria, Chairman of the Index Group of Institutions, along with Dr. Sanjeev Narang, Vice Chancellor of Malwanchal University, Dr. G. S. Patel, Dean of IMCHRC, and other esteemed dignitaries. This was followed by the national anthem, uniting everyone in a moment of national pride.
A culturally rich program was organized to commemorate this special day. Mount Index International School successfully hosted the much-anticipated annual sports event, SPIRIT-O-THON, on the 25th and 26th of January 2025. The event kicked off with a vibrant opening ceremony featuring the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and an inspiring yoga demonstration by the students. The Chief Guest, Mr. Jitendra Singh Solanki, an esteemed professor from IIT Bombay, motivated the audience with a powerful address on the importance of conserving natural resources, particularly electricity. His words resonated with the students and parents in attendance, setting the tone for two days of spirited competition and collaboration.
The event also prioritized the safety and well-being of participants, with a dedicated team of physiotherapists on-site to provide immediate medical support. Led by Dr. Sandeep Patel, the on-field physiotherapy team, including interns and experienced practitioners, ensured that any injuries were promptly attended to. Common injuries, such as ankle sprains, muscle pulls, and open wounds, were treated using methods like MFR, icing, stretching, and dressing. The team’s quick response and expert care allowed participants to continue enjoying the event without significant disruptions. Over the two days, the physiotherapy team attended to approximately 20 patients, highlighting the importance of immediate medical attention in sports events.
SPIRIT-O-THON 2025 was a resounding success, not only in promoting physical fitness and family bonding but also in emphasizing the crucial role of physiotherapy in sports. The event showcased the significance of stretching, posture, and injury prevention, and provided an excellent opportunity for learning.
