The Sports Week Celebration at Index Institute of Pharmacy, held from February 17th to 27th, 2025, was an electrifying event that showcased the true spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and physical fitness. The event kicked off with an inspiring inauguration ceremony, attended by our Principal, esteemed faculty, and student representatives, all of whom encouraged participants to give their best and embrace the thrill of healthy competition. This exciting week-long celebration provided students with the perfect platform to demonstrate their athletic skills and unite in the shared pursuit of excellence.
A diverse array of indoor and outdoor sports events were organized, including cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, chess, kabaddi, and athletics. The excitement on the fields and courts was palpable, with each match and game bringing out the best in our participants. Students displayed outstanding skills, determination, and sportsmanship as they competed fiercely while maintaining a strong sense of camaraderie. These events not only challenged their physical abilities but also fostered a sense of discipline, leadership, and resilience—qualities that are essential in both their academic and professional lives.

Celebration of National Pharmacy Education Day at Index Institute of Pharmacy

National Pharmacy Education Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Index Institute of Pharmacy on March 6. On this occasion, a rally was organized by the students and faculty, and valuable insights about the pharmacy sector were shared by various experts. Dr. Sanjeev Narang, Vice Chancellor highlighted the significance of this day and emphasized that pharmaceutical education plays a crucial role in achieving the sustainable development of a country. He also acknowledged the contributions of Professor Mahadev Lal Shroff, whose efforts were instrumental in the establishment of pharmacy education in India.
The event commemorated the birth anniversary of Professor Mahadev Lal Shroff, a pioneer in the field of pharmacy education in India. Dr. Javed Khan Pathan, Principal of Index Institute of Pharmacy, mentioned that the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) initiated the celebration of National Pharmacy Education Day in honor of Professor Shroff. The day aims to recognize the contributions of pharmacists across the country, highlighting their diverse roles and responsibilities.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Dr. Lokeshwar Singh Jodhana, Registrar, Dr. R.C. Yadav, Additional Director of Index Group, Mr. Roopesh Verma, Director HR & Communication and many others. The speakers underscored the expanding scope of pharmacy in India, noting that it is no longer confined to just drugstores but has now grown to include research and various other domains. This celebration served as a reminder of the growing importance and impact of the pharmacy profession in the country.
